About The Position

The Wastewater Plant Manager is responsible for the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing budgets, and overseeing staff. This role involves monitoring performance, implementing safety practices, and coordinating with engineering staff for improvements in processes and equipment.

Requirements

  • Seven years of progressively responsible experience in wastewater management, including three years in a supervisory role.
  • TCEQ Class 'A' Wastewater Operator license.
  • Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Six years of progressively responsible experience in wastewater management, including three years in a supervisory role.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in advanced biological wastewater treatment plants with a capacity of 10 million gallons per day or greater.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding water treatment and discharge.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, select, develop, train, and evaluate personnel.
  • Forecast, allocate, and monitor human, physical, and financial resources.
  • Develop and execute operations and maintenance budgets.
  • Promote and enforce safe working practices and ensure safety inspections are completed monthly.
  • Inspect and oversee facilities to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Evaluate complex data to prepare regulatory, technical, and managerial reports.
  • Coordinate operations and maintenance activities with other groups and support staff.
  • Develop and participate in conceptual planning efforts with engineering staff and consultants.
  • Review designs and construction documents for operational efficiency.
  • Develop, monitor, and analyze metrics to improve department efficiency.
  • Coordinate plant tours to showcase wastewater facilities.
  • Maintain the Environmental Protection Agency Risk Management Program.
