About The Position

We are currently seeking an industrial wastewater treatment plant operator for our site in Winder, GA. This position will operate and maintain the wastewater treatment plant in compliance with the sites industrial user discharge permit. This includes lab analysis of process samples, troubleshooting equipment issues, and other tasks assigned by the project manager and lead operator.

Requirements

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Must be willing to work in a rigorous field setting
• 0-2 years experience in a wastewater treatment facility
• Organized, reliable, and able to learn new technical concepts, work independently and work well with others in a team setting
• Proficient with MS Office
• Must be willing to work swing shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays, when required
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Ability to work for short periods of time in extreme temperatures, including heat and cold.
• Ability to wear required safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
• Ability to walk and stand for several hours to inspect, work, and observe process and equipment.
• Ability to remain alert and vigilant while working around equipment and processes.
• Ability to lift objects on job sites that are 50 lbs or less.
• Highschool diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

• Some experience working in an industrial setting preferred
• Wastewater operator license, preferred.
• Willingness to obtain a wastewater operator license in the future, preferred.
• Forklift license, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Wastewater treatment plant operation
• System monitoring and troubleshooting
• Collection of wastewater samples
• On-site testing
• Record keeping, computer data entry
• Chemical handling
• Ensure cleanliness of the equipment plant, office, lab.
• Operate the equipment and processes in the wastewater treatment plant including: pH adjustment, flocculation, clarification, chemical feed systems, wastewater pumps, HMI, and centrifuge.
