About The Position

This position supports the operation and maintenance of various wastewater treatment systems, including the wastewater analysis laboratory, collection system, pre‑treatment system, and full treatment system.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of wastewater experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Must complete a site‑selected stormwater training program within 30 days.
• Must complete “Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume I” and “Volume II” (California State University Sacramento) within 12 months.
• Must obtain the lowest grade certification within 12 months or per state regulations.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must obtain higher certification levels up to Level A as required by the facility and state regulations.
• Must meet and maintain minimum state‑required qualification levels.
• Ability to lift 50–75 pounds.
• Ability to climb/descend stairs or ladders.
• Ability to work in unsanitary conditions and with hazardous chemicals.

Nice To Haves

• 1+ years of wastewater experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collecting samples in accordance with EPA, state, and health department regulations.
• Performing chemical analyses both in and outside of a laboratory setting.
• Making system adjustments based on interpretation of analytical results.
• Exercising sound judgment to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Performing mathematical calculations using basic algebra and a calculator.
• Completing computerized reports and compiling information for monthly reporting requirements (permits, state authority, EPA, or corporate management).
• Applying basic organizational, mechanical, and electrical wiring skills.
• Communicating operational status to upper management.
• Maintaining operational logs.
• Performing minor and major equipment maintenance.
• Operating a spotter truck and/or forklift.
• Performing groundskeeping, painting, general housekeeping, and other duties as assigned.
