Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Wastewater experience preferred.
  • Six months to one-year experience in wastewater operations desirable.
  • Must have the ability to work alone and in close cooperation with production personnel.
  • Capable of working through complex problems alone or with others to provide logical solutions.
  • Required to read and follow rules for maintaining a sanitary plant.
  • The physical demands of this position include the ability to walk and stand on a regular basis.
  • Must climb stairs and ladders.
  • The ability to reach, bend/stoop, crouch, squat, push/pull and manipulate is frequently required.
  • Must be able to lift full pails of washing solution, jugs of chemicals, equipment, or move bags of chemicals that could weigh 50 pounds and occasionally more.
  • Vision and the ability to read and write are required to perform this job.
  • Talking and hearing are essential functions of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cleaning key production areas at high risk for environmental contamination.
  • Operates Dissolved Air Filtration units, Screens, pumps and water testing equipment in an efficient and workmanlike manner.
  • Uses chemicals in a safe manner as established by the company.
  • Fully understands all of the chemicals in the plant: what they're used for, how to correctly use them, dilutions, handling of the chemicals, and what to do if improperly exposed to a chemical.
  • Fills out all documents for regulatory compliance after completing each task.
  • Will be alert to spot malfunctions in the operation of equipment that could be unsafe to the employee, or others in the area.
  • Immediately reports such conditions to their supervisor.
  • May paint parts of the building and equipment.
  • Reports any non-compliance conditions to supervisor.
  • Operates forklift.
