About The Position

The City of Jamestown is accepting applications for the position of Wastewater Maintenance Operator I. This position involves a wide variety of unskilled and semi-skilled labor activities in the routine maintenance of the wastewater collection system. The wastewater department operates on a forty (40) hour work week with on-call time and overtime as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid North Dakota Class 'B' driver's license with air brake endorsement or ability to obtain one within six (6) months of employment
• Ability to learn and understand the hazards and safety precautions common to excavations, manholes, and lift stations
• Ability to perform moderately heavy tasks for extended periods of time in all types of weather
• Ability to obtain a Class I Wastewater Collection Operator's Certification from the North Dakota State Health Department within two (2) years of employment
