Maintenance technician will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. Will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. Responsibilities will include waste water treatment to remove heavy metals before water is released. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.

  • Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, mills, shakers, packaging systems, and pumps.
  • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed.
  • Perform facility repairs such as drywall, painting, and other miscellaneous repairs as needed.
  • Perform work order repairs, inspection and adjustments.
  • Able to set up and operate drills, grinders, hand tools, and other metal and wood working equipment.
  • With the direction of supervision, able to fabricate and modify new and existing equipment.
  • Monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges, make adjustments to process wastewater.
  • Collect and submit samples for testing.
  • Record operational data.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, tanks, filter beds, and other work areas.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50-70 lbs.
  • Ability to write detailed repair reports and correspondences.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.
  • 3-5 years of general maintenance experience preferred.
  • Must be results focused and oriented toward accomplishment of team and organizational goals.
  • Ability to handle multiple, rapidly changing and conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of personnel with the utmost professionalism.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while remaining productive at all times.
  • All personnel must work safely in the wastewater treatment room.
  • Personnel must be familiar with the chemicals they are working and read the MSDS prior to using the chemical in question.
  • Personnel must wear PPE (Lab Coat, Safety Goggles, Gloves, Face Shield, Respirator if required), when working with chemicals in the wastewater treatment room.
  • Knowledge of jar testing for proper chemistry helpful.
  • General knowledge of industrial pretreatment or wastewater treatment helpful.
  • Knowledge of PLC for equipment operation, chemical feed pumps, pumps helpful.
