Operates machinery that converts wastewater in drains and sewers into a form that is safe to release into the environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent - or GED - Required
  • Forklift certification - Required
  • Distinguish between all primary colors of the rainbow.
  • The ability to multi-task must be a quick learner and able to adapt to change.
  • Skills/Competencies: Average-above average English and mathematical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing experience - Preferred

Responsibilities

  • The ability to read, follow, and understand the procedures.
  • The ability to read and understand formulations and accurately calculate chemical concentrations.
  • Identify and understand the properties and hazards of chemicals used in the treatment process.
  • Monitor the performance of all equipment.
  • Maintain log of operations and record meter readings.
  • Monitor environment equipment to assure regulatory compliance.
  • Interpret meter readings and test results to determine load requirements.
  • Coordinate repairs and modifications with the maintenance department.
  • Operate and maintain the pumps and motors that move water and wastewater through the filtration systems.
  • Troubleshoot processes and equipment.
  • Collect samples for analysis
  • Keep records that document compliance.
  • Ability to identify, communicate, and mitigate if possible all unsafe behaviors, conditions, and spills.
  • Operate forklift and conduct forklift inspections.
  • Department Specific: Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
  • Certification in Confined Space Rescue, Hazmat, First responder, Fire brigade.
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs.
  • Attend Safety Meetings, Site Safety Meetings, and Safety Tours.
