About The Position

The Wastewater Treatment Operator will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment systems. Duties include, but are not limited to, the operation of wastewater analysis laboratories, wastewater collection systems, pre-treatment systems, and full treatment systems. Key responsibilities involve collecting samples, performing chemical analyses, making system adjustments, ensuring regulatory compliance, performing mathematical calculations, completing computerized reports, and maintaining operational logs. Additional tasks may include equipment maintenance, operation of spotter trucks and forklifts, groundskeeping, painting, and general housekeeping.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of wastewater experience preferred
• Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Must successfully complete a stormwater training program within thirty days
• Must complete 'Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume I' and 'Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume II' correspondence courses within twelve months
• Must obtain the lowest grade certification program within twelve months or in accordance with state regulations
• Valid driver's license
• Required to obtain higher levels of certification and training up to Level A
