About The Position

The Waste Management Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the management of waste generated during commissioning operations at the Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) site. This role includes daily management of waste activities, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and providing direction to waste handlers and generators. The position emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to applicable laws and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's or bachelor's degree may count toward supervisory experience.
• 6 years of supervisory experience in hazardous waste management or related fields is desired.
• Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize workloads effectively.
• Working knowledge of DOT 49 CFR requirements and ability to obtain DOT shipper certification.
• Excellent technical writing/editing and verbal communication skills.

• Knowledge of Conduct of Operations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform all work safely and with utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
• Ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
• Conduct waste management activities in accordance with RCRA regulations and Washington Department of Ecology Dangerous Waste regulations.
• Provide waste packaging instructions compliant with DOT transportation requirements.
• Demonstrate understanding of environmental regulations and the WTP Dangerous Waste Permit.
• Obtain and maintain qualification as a waste shipper for dangerous and radioactive wastes.
• Oversee waste packaging, labeling, and storage activities.
• Maintain current training, certification, and development requirements.
• Maintain assigned tracking reports, metrics, and records.
• Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture.
