About The Position

The Waste Management Specialist is a vital member of the operations team, responsible for the hands-on collection, handling, and processing of waste materials. This role is ideal for a dependable, hardworking individual who thrives in a fast paced, physically active environment. The Waste Management Specialist will load, transport, and properly dispose of various waste streams, maintain clean and safe job sites, operate equipment and vehicles as needed, and follow all safety and environmental regulations. This position is key to ensuring efficient daily operations and delivering high-quality service to our clients and community.

Requirements

1–2 years of general labor, waste handling, construction, or related field experience preferred.
Ability to lift 20–50 lbs. repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
Basic understanding of safety practices, PPE usage, and equipment operation.
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn on the job.
Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and be a dependable team player.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in junk removal, waste management, landscaping, or construction site cleanup.
Familiarity with environmental regulations and safe material handling practices.
Interest in sustainability, community service, or veteran-focused mission work.

Responsibilities

Safely load, transport, and unload waste, debris, and recyclable materials from job sites, customer locations, and company facilities.
Sort, separate, and properly dispose of materials according to company procedures and environmental regulations.
Operate basic tools and equipment (such as dollies, lifts, compactors, or small trucks) to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
Maintain clean, organized work areas and ensure proper containment of materials during handling and transport.
Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and minor maintenance on vehicles, tools, and waste containers.
Report equipment issues, safety hazards, or site concerns promptly to supervisors.
Assist in staging materials, organizing storage areas, and preparing sites for waste removal or cleanup projects.
Follow daily checklists to keep work areas safe, stocked, and operational.
Work closely with crew leaders, dispatchers, and operations staff to complete daily routes and assignments on schedule.
Communicate clearly with team members and clients on-site to ensure safe, effective service.
Accurately track loads, job details, and service completion using company systems or forms.
Support other crews or departments when needed, especially during high-volume or emergency cleanups.
