The Waste Coordinator/Manager position at EEW is a mid-level role focused on overseeing waste management operations while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. The role involves daily interaction with customers and team members, utilizing technical waste knowledge to promote sustainable practices.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily waste management operations, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards.
- Generate profiles, paperwork, and reports for various waste streams for customers.
- Coordinate the collection, transportation, and disposal of waste materials in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Train and mentor staff and sales representatives regarding waste characterization and best practices for waste management.
- Complete Chain of Custody (COC) forms for sampling of waste materials and run/interpret analytical results.
- Maintain relationships with a wide range of Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (TSDFs) and recycling facilities to provide cost-effective and environmentally friendly disposal options.
- Maintain accurate records of waste management activities and prepare reports for regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with local authorities and environmental agencies to promote sustainable practices.
- Accompany sales representatives to perform site/customer visits.
Requirements
- Proven experience in waste management, ideally as a broker (not tied to a TSDF).
- Extensive knowledge of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes.
- Ability to accurately generate waste profiles for hazardous and non-hazardous wastes.
- Experience navigating the TCEQ website and reviewing generator Notices of Registration (NORs).
- Knowledgeable with RCRA, TCEQ, EPA, and RCC regulations related to waste management and disposal.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with team members, clients, and regulatory bodies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
