About The Position

At Lucchese bootmaker, craftsmanship defines our brand. The washer associate is responsible for cleaning and condition, restoring, and maintaining cowboy boots made from various materials such as leather, suede, and exotic skins. This role ensures boots are returned to stores or customers in excellent condition, preserving their appearance, comfort, and durability.

  • Strong team player with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Passion and desire for excellence by consistently exceeding quality expectations.
  • Willingness to work overtime as production demands require.
  • Will need to perform other duties as assigned.
  • High school Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in boot manufacturing, leather goods production, or an industrial environment required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven manufacturing environment.
  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, and fingers for repetitive standing and cutting motion.
  • Ability to focus and precision throughout repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

  • From the rack, remove one boot at a time and revise ticket to find the correct process of conditioning.
  • Place the boot on the table, wipe the entire boot with leather conditioner.
  • When necessary, get a brush or rag with cleaning solvent, to remove cement or paint.
  • Return boot to the rack and after complete push the rack to the next staging area.
  • Must meet a certain number of conditioning boots. (Productions quotas)
  • The number of boots processed will depend on production flow and the specific boot style, as different styles are sorted accordingly for the washers.
  • Racks will typically be worked with 6 pairs; however, if empty racks are not available, this may increase to up to 12 pairs per rack.
  • Washers are expected to process boots promptly. The number of pairs completed will be counted and recorded.
  • Washers will use Solvent Cleaner, Acetone, and Leather Conditioner to clean and treat the leather.
  • Must support the department on different working stations.
  • Always keep the working area clean.
  • Follow all safety guidelines.
