About The Position

The Washer-Dryer Operator is responsible for picking up, sorting, washing and drying of linens, uniforms, drapes, and other Hospital washables. Is also responsible for recording linen weights and supplies used, keeping work area and equipment clean, and for following proper safety procedures.

Requirements

Must be able to read, write and do simple math.
Knowledge of work methods and washing equipment; safety precautions and work methods.
Must be able to work well with others and organize work responsibilities efficiently.
Must use measuring devices.
Understand and interpret oral and written instructions
keep basic records
maintain a neat and clean personal appearance.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to speak simple sentences.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10#s and 100#s.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional variables.
Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking
occasionally lifts supplies/equipment
considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching.
Ability to be able to lift or push/pull fifty (50) pounds frequently and to stand, walk, turn, reach, stoop and crouch while performing tasks.
