Job Responsibilities: Mission of Position: Oversee and coordinate cross-functional teams on multiple advanced Driveline programs to ensure appropriate Warranty Performance, Key metrics and APQP, Quality-related GPMS process steps and proactive quality tools are being properly and thoroughly executed on a timely basis. Towards customer satisfaction and cost efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related field.
  • 3 – 10 years of experience in APQP Process AIAG.
  • 6 – 10 Quality Engineering experience.
  • 2 – 4 years of experience in Plant Operations.
  • Proficient in ISO/TS16949/IATF.
  • Proficient in problem solving (8D, 5-Why, Drill Deep and Wide, Shainan, Six Sigma Green Belt or better, etc.).
  • Manufacturing experience in molding, stamping, assembly, rubber extrusions, plating.
  • Proficient in AIAG core tools: PPAP, APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, MSA and SPC.
  • Business or Technical Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience required.
  • Strong leader with effective written and verbal communication skills who will drive processes and resolve issues.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Practice and maintain integrity while following Magna’s Charter and Constitution.

  • Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system (IATF).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the follow commodities would be a plus (Aluminum Castings, Electronics, Stampings, Machining, Heat Treat, Assembly Experience).
  • Software Experience a Plus.
  • CQE certification a Plus.
  • Experience in Metallurgical/Metals background would be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in SOR reviews with Customer and comprehends requirements to cascade and develop internal processes.
  • Develop quality plans to meet customer specific requirements.
  • Supports the quality of new program launches through collaboration of the program management and manufacturing facilities the Advanced Quality Engineer builds trust, report at all levels from floor associates, management, and customers, facilitates the internal quality improvement process and team interaction
  • Involvement in problem solving, root cause analysis, developing corrective actions, inspections, SPC, and working with internal/external customers as needed
  • Functions as the leader for Quality on Program Teams and ensures quality issues are resolved prior to launch of new products (ensure mature quality at launch thru Lessons Learned).
  • Oversees cross functional teams through the development of Process Control Plans, and other Quality-related documentation.
  • Make sure cross-functional team developing Design and Process FMEA’s.
  • Works with manufacturing plant and machine tool builders to develop capable manufacturing processes.
  • Ensures manufacturing process capability data is properly captured and reported via process capability statistics.
  • Ensures APQP and Quality-related GPMS process steps are being properly and thoroughly executed by program teams.
  • Ensures identification of key product and process characteristics and deploy necessary controls to ensure specifications are met in production.
  • Identifies and ensures best process and product practices are used across similar processes and products.
  • Works with cross-functional teams to solve technical issues.
  • Monitor customer complaints to identify actions that help mitigate risks and their high impact.
  • Continuously monitor key customer indicators such as IPTV, CPV, C/1000, etc., to define actions to mitigate risk and reduce incidents.
  • Ensure the corresponding reports are submitted on time for those main issues affecting warranty indicators, as well as the associated costs of claims.
  • Conduct relevant negotiations with customers to define the necessary actions to reduce or eliminate incidents in the field.
  • Ensure that local warranty information capture systems are up-to-date and correspond with the information provided by customers through their portals. For example, WMS, CKM, etc.
  • Ensure that troubleshooting reports related to field incidents are generated and implemented. Example: 8D.
  • Conduct meetings with multifunctional teams (CFT) in order to follow up on the actions established to mitigate risks from field failures.
  • Participates on vehicle testing for failure mode identification.
  • Regularly present to clients the activities, graphs and indicators necessary to keep track of the incidents reported by them.
  • Interactions with OEM and internal customers.
  • Visits to customer facilites ocationally.
  • Traveling to manufacturing location periodically.
