About The Position

The Warranty Clerk is responsible for managing warranty claims for the dealership, ensuring accurate submission and tracking of claims to secure payment from the factory or distributor. This role involves organizing warranty parts, handling factory recall paperwork, and providing support to the parts and service department as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience in General Motors warranty service is preferred.
  • Automotive service retail experience is required.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills are necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Microsoft software and related applications.
  • Mathematical aptitude is needed.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, review, and record warranty claims.
  • Reconcile warranty claims and submit them to the factory or distributor.
  • Arrange for parts to be shipped to the factory or distributor.
  • Resubmit all rejected claims promptly.
  • Keep track of all warranty parts by noting repair order numbers and dates of replacement.
  • Handle factory recall paperwork.
  • Assist the receptionist in answering phones when away from their desk.
