About The Position

CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for seasonal Team Leads(s) for their 24/7 program. The Team Lead assists the Mentors and guests, providing quality services, and maintaining the cleanliness and integrity of the center. The Cooling Center provides emergency all day and overnight shelter for the unhoused during the summer heat . The Cooling Center provides a cool safe place for unsheltered individuals to spend the day or night during the summer season. HIGHLIGHTS Greet guests and make them feel welcome and comfortable. Be a positive role model, through professional behavior and communication. Assists Mentors in prioritization of work assignments and team service planning as directed by supervisor. Provide a safe and healthy environment through education, guidance, and personal interaction. Responsible for guest safety, proving crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed. Must adhere to staffing schedules to provide adequate and safe staffing coverage to accomplish program objectives. Available Shifts 6pm - 12am 12am - 6am (overnight)

Requirements

• High School diploma / GED and 2+ years working at a nonprofit OR Bachelor’s degree in a mental health discipline.
• Must be proficient in MS Office products, as well as general computer literacy.
• Must have a valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage crises.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.

• Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
