Opportunities in distribution include forklift operators, pickers/packers, mechanics, supervisors and other disciplines. Job Summary: Supports Distribution Operations by assisting with receiving activities, shipping, merchandise/material movement of warehouse inventory. Utilizes and operates a forklift and material handling equipment safely for the movement of inventories during the process of unloading, staging, loading trailers, put-aways, and the movement of inventories during the process of replenishment. Utilizes various documents,puter, and RF system applications toplete operational tasks and data entry.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience: 0+ years in Warehouse
  • Must be able to learn WM terminology/acronyms and understand radio frequency functions to perform tasks. Must be able to learn OSHA standards and be able to demonstratepetency in safety workplace procedures. Must be able to learn Hazardous Material Shipping regulations as required to perform shipping related functions.
  • Ability to perform successfully in a team-oriented, time-sensitive, proactive, and multi-cultural environment with co-workers and supervision. Must effectivelymunicate warehouse functions and interpret operational procedures. Must be able to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and accept system directed work to verify inventory part numbers and to stock inventory accurately.
  • Must have the physical stamina to move objects weighing up to 70 pounds to categorize merchandise in bulk stock area and fill flow racks with inventory.
  • Must be able to successfullyplete Mary Kay forklift certification within probationary period of 90 days and be able to demonstratepetency to operate a variety of industrial powered trucks and battery handling equipment safely. Must perform battery preventative maintenance and operate battery chargers safely. Must continuously demonstrate the ability to safely drive the forklift equipment and be able to maintain forklift certification requirements. An evaluation of the warehouser's performance is conducted at least once every three years.
  • Must have the ability to frequently stoop, crouch, kneel, push, pull, and reach to check pallets, pick cases and shrink wrap pallets. Must have the physical stamina to move objects weighing up to 70 lbs. to categorize merchandise in bulk stock areas and fill flow racks with inventory.
  • Must be able to stand, sit and or walk for extended periods of time; lift 30% of the time to load product in bulk flow racks; push/pull, reach, or stoop 25% of the time to inspect, unload, and break down inventory.
  • Incumbent must have sufficient visual acuity to operate forklift safely including yielding to pedestrian traffic and to identify and place various products in double deep bulk storage racks. Also, the incumbent must have good eye/hand coordination to operate forklift efficiently.
  • Must have basic PC skills to operate WM system.
  • Must be very detail-oriented to verify inventory information.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic to aplish goals and Company objectives.
  • Must be able to utilize interpersonal skills to work well with and for others within the department and the Company.
  • Incumbent must be able to maintain an attendance record in good standing. More specifically, incumbent is required to meet all "Attendance and Punctuality" guidelines as specified in Employee Handbook and is expected to know and follow all safety rules, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for loading and unloading skids of inventory from trucks on the receiving dock. Sorts cases from break down skids to ensure one part number with the same batch code exists on new skids. Palletizes cases on new skid IDs, s and applies new labels. Ensures all cases are properly labeled. Moves product to reserve locations. Uses the RF Put-Away function to scan the proper bar code labels. Physically places the skids in reserve locations scanned. May be responsible for verifying the shipment in the warehouse management system.
  • Completes work orders as assigned by Inventory Control and ensures that outbound shipments to the various distribution centers and other destinations are pulled and expediated. Verifies quantities are accurate and match with outbound shipping paperwork. Scans each skid to the shipment and ensures load is secure for outbound transport. Loads trailer and provides shipping documents to the carrier.
  • Utilizes RF and WM system to access system generated tasks to stock the pick line and secondary warehouse locations. Locates product in reserve bulk location. Verifies inventory part number matches the system generated request. Scans location bar code to remove the inventory from bulk storage. Stocks the pick line by scanning the location and the requested number of cases. Cuts cases with care to not cut or damage product or cartons and loads the cases into bulk flow racks. Lifts cases to shoulder level or over head to place product on pallets or bulk racks. Returns remaining inventory to original reserve location or to a different reserve location using the Locate Pallet function. Determines the best standard practice among the various replenishment options given theplexity of the task.
  • Performs weekly system generated cycle counts as assigned. Completes system generated cycle counts by scanning each case on the pallet. Assists Inventory Control with reconciliation of variances.
  • Works with the Team Coordinator to ensure prompt delivery ofponents and raw materials to the Distribution Assembly production floor to meet production schedules, tasking requirements and eliminate downtime. Assists in the inspection of finished good product for defects before and after assembly and ensured the correct items are delivered to the pick lines. Performs cycle counts and properly stocks all returned inventory from distribution assembly work orders to maintain the highest level of inventory accuracy. s accountability with employees on the Distribution Assembly line for packaging specificationpliance. Communicates with Supervisor or Team Coordinator when tasking demand is low to utilize resources elsew.
  • Performs daily forklift safety checklist, and other miscellaneous duties including maintaining equipment, assisting Supervisor as needed, conducting inventories, keeping warehouse clean and free of clutter, etc. May perform building maintenance. If applicable, performs preventative maintenance on batteries (always wearing necessary safety equipment), including removing and charging battery, watering battery, inspecting battery for exposed wires, and reporting failures to Supervisor.
  • This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility.
