About The Position

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Has a fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality as it applies to all the duties listed below; Will promote a safe working environment. Understands and adheres to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers. Will promote a “teamwork” atmosphere by assisting where needed in housekeeping, organizing, packing, transporting corrugated, erecting corrugated and forklift operations for production, shipping and receiving. Unitize finished good cartons by lot number ensuring no mixed cases. Run carton make up area, loading materials into carton erectors, assigning the correct cartons to production lines and housekeeping. Operate stretch wrappers for covering finished good products. With a Silgan provided forklift operator license drive fork/clamp trucks to wrap and put away finished goods. Use a RF scanner to produce, transfer, inquiry and scan to and from hold finished goods. Evaluates and takes appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines. Inspect work areas and look for unsafe acts/conditions. Effectively use verbal and written communications. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures.
