Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Knowledge of Database and Inventory software helpful
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The Team Member is frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The Team Member is required to climb up and down ladders, walk or balance.
  • The Team Member must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Compare identifying information and counts.
  • Weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
  • Utilizes Inventory database software and handheld scan gun to track products and shipments
  • Determines method of shipment
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons, inserts items into containers, posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
  • Routes items to departments
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Operates Forklift, Stock Picker, and manual or electric pallet jack to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area
  • Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Ensures stocking area is prepared for incoming shipments
  • Additional duties as assigned by Manager
