About The Position

SUMMARY Directs and performs warehousing activities for organization by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Follows operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current. Checks in and unloads all receiving from incoming trucks, including UPS, and complete appropriate paperwork. Place stock on shelves, racks or other appropriate designated location. Fills customer orders for delivery, will call or shipment. Maintains warehouse in a neat and orderly fashion keeping inventory in proper bin locations. Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment. Confers with department manager to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as sales and deliveries. Directs salvage of damaged or used material, including cores. Inspect all cores coming in from deliveries, making sure they are acceptable. Prepares core returns in accordance with current standards. Enters bin location on product that comes in without current bin location. Complete daily cycle counts. Process negative inventory report and corrections as needed. Assist or load vehicles for deliveries. Complete appropriate paperwork associated with all warehouse transactions. Responsible to back-up delivery drivers as needed. This will include completing all driver tasks including, but not limited to, driving company vehicle to deliver parts to customer's place of business. Check load prior to leaving for delivery route. Obtain signature of customer when parts are delivered and collect payment if necessary. Maintain delivery record of sales and parts delivered. Maintain company vehicle to standards, including cleaning, inspecting and completing appropriate paperwork for repairs. Other duties as assigned by manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and prior related experience of six to 12 months and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Microsoft Office skills preferred with prior warehouse computer experience considered.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be forklift certified or able to be certified to operate forklift.
  • Must maintain a valid drivers' license in the state of employment.
