About The Position

We’re looking for a seasoned and strategic Senior Warehouse & Yard Operations Manager to lead our Fort Lauderdale-based warehouse and yard operations. This is a high-impact leadership role supporting our Roofing, Solar, HVAC, and Service divisions across multiple locations. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or other related fields preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in warehouse management or supply chain preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in a multi-model warehousing operation preferred
  • 3 years in a managerial role required
  • Experience in general construction within commercial Roofing, HVAC and/ or Solar preferred
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
  • Successful Pre-Employment Drug test
  • Comfortable climbing ladders up to 60 ft tall
  • Must be able to lift 100 LBS or more
  • Successful Background Check
  • Demonstrated ability to review resource management data and provide strategies for improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that is deadline driven.
  • Ability to contribute to continuous improvement efforts within processes, equipment and talent. Flexible to accommodate changing priorities and shifts in day-to-day tasks.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in warehousing, forklift operation, and workplace safety; proficiency in operations management, material management, and inventory control
  • A strong work ethic and a high level of self-motivation.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technology-operating tools (WMS and ERP)
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Products (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills with ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, State and Federal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director of Warehouse and Logistics to define material and equipment handling strategies aligned with business requirements and guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on warehouse performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with IT staff to ensure the effective use of warehousing systems and automation.
  • Collaborate with Roofing, HVAC and Solar management team to integrate logistics with business systems or process to and from job sites.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve warehouse efficiency.
  • Ensure that goods are stored and handled in an organized manner and maximize space utilization.
  • Coordinate the timely receipt, storage, and release of material.
  • Oversee the inventory levels and implement inventory control measures to reduce obsolescence and wastage.
  • Drive maintenance of accurate stock information, monitor material movement, and compare production schedules against inventory levels to minimize losses.
  • Request purchase orders and replenish inventory items and accurately register entries into ERP.
  • Purchase materials for load list, stock and as approved by Construction Managers through approved processes.
  • Oversee timely and accurate process of load lists and out of stock tickets.
  • Manage and conduct quarterly warehouse inventory process.
  • Manage all warehouse ERP functions
  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory records for all return stock and Q inventory.
  • Manage all receiving and shipping documentation to ensure it is properly submitted to Finance Department.
  • Recruits, hires, and trains new warehouse employees. Coaches, counsels, schedules and disciplines current warehouse employees as needed by enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Manage a team of warehouse staff, including leading several Supervisors, ensuring multiple shifts and warehouse locations are properly staffed and trained to serve all divisional requirements.
  • Allocate and manage staff resources based on changing needs.
  • Motivate and lead the warehouse team to effectively carry out given tasks.
  • Adjust work and staff schedules accordingly to meet demand while maintaining costs within acceptable margins.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training curriculums. Foster a positive work environment that focuses on talent development and actively supports employee well-being to handle complex tasks and shifting priorities.
  • Provide timely and effective support, feedback, issue corrective actions, and follow up on progress.
  • Create a succession plan.
  • Enforce safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain safety/security and inventory control programs for the safe operation, accurate availability of inventory and storage of material and equipment.
  • Optimize warehouse facilities for efficient and accurate storage and distribution of material goods.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and reliability of the inventory system.
  • Develop Warehouse Mapping strategies to optimize space and flow of material.
  • Monitor the quality of material entering and leaving the warehouse to ensure they meet set standards.
  • Implement measures to minimize damage and breakages of goods.
  • Ensure accurate entries within pertaining company provided management platforms.
  • Track key performance indicators pertaining to productivity and accuracy of task performed.
  • Ensure all purchase orders are received, distributed, and stocked in a timely and accurate method.
  • Manage all warehouse equipment and inventory transfers.
  • Monitor operational costs and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure the optimal level of stock is maintained.
  • Collaborate through vendor management and pricing initiatives.
  • Forecasts requirements, prepares annual budgets, schedules expenditures, analyzes variances and initiates corrective actions to meet financial objectives of the warehouse.
  • Manage centralized Asset tool tracking and management program
  • Collaborate with Fleet and Equipment Manager to ensure that warehouse machinery and equipment are maintained in good working condition.
  • Reviews any machinery failures reported by operations or receipt from operations and coordinates with the Fleet and Equipment team for prompt repair.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Fleet management to organize materials deliveries and pick-ups using designated warehouse assets
  • Coordinate with Division management to provide required tools, equipment, and accessories required for normal operations
  • Ensure new tools and equipment received by the warehouse are properly registered to ensure warranty coverage.
  • Ensure new tools and equipment and documentation received by the warehouse are accurately reported to the Fleet and Equipment Manager and Finance Department
  • Oversee facility (warehouse locations, yard, parking lot, etc.) housekeeping and address any safety concerns immediately.
  • Ensure that the warehouses, parking lot, yard, and warehouse are clean and organized.
  • Address any parking lot, yard, and warehouse maintenance needs.
  • Provide routine facility support and maintenance needs during downtime by designating tasks for staff.
  • Coordinate with Facilities management to support overall facilities management
