The General Motors Manufacturing Group is seeking to identify highly motivated individuals for current and potential future opportunities at our Ypsilanti CCA facility. In anticipation of these openings becoming available, we welcome you to apply so we can begin the pre-screening process. Warehouse Team Members are hardworking and ambitious workers who are responsible for picking, packaging, staging, and shipping automotive parts from a General Motors warehouse. Team members are also loading, unloading, stocking, and maintaining the warehouse inventory.

  • Understand, support, and execute all work in a safe manner and contribute to a culture that promotes safety as its overriding priority.
  • Use and operate warehouse equipment such as order selector, sit down/stand up forklifts in connection with the receipt, storage, and shipping of parts.
  • Package finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, and labeling).
  • Stage parts for loading.
  • Load finished products onto truck and/or railcar.
  • Move parts to warehouse for storage.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence.
  • Read, comprehend, and follow written, standardized work instructions and trained procedures.
  • Work cooperatively with others in a team environment.
  • Learn new tasks and adapt to frequent job duty changes as required by business and manpower demands.
  • Complete tasks within designated timeframes to meet operational expectations.
  • Work in a dynamic and fast-paced warehousing plant environment.
  • Regularly report for work on time to support startup and throughput goals.
  • Perform bench, floor, or conveyor assembly work, usually of short cycle duration, and involving standardized work elements.
  • First responder support of production machining and/or assembly environment.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform tasks on all equipment in assigned workspace.
  • Perform predictive, preventive, and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Flexible shift availability.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which includes drug testing and a background check.
  • Proficiency to listen, read, follow work and safety instructions.
  • One year of manufacturing experience, preferably in the automotive industry, a warehouse setting, or other similar environment.
  • Wage rate of $21 per hour.
  • Shift premium, team leader pay, etc. may be additional compensation.
  • Profit sharing payout based on qualified company earnings to eligible seniority employees.
