About The Position

Under direct supervision receives, stores, selects and loads products within warehouse by performing the following duties as directed by immediate supervisor or Operations Manager. This role is designed for individuals who are ready to take on added responsibility beyond traditional warehouse functions. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to demonstrate leadership by helping guide a shift, training other team members, and managing end-of-day responsibilities. Performance in this role can lead to future consideration for formal Lead-level positions within the warehouse team.

Requirements

  • Experience in operating material handling equipment such as hand jacks, forklifts, reach’s, order pickers, and other various material handling equipment.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment up to 95% of the time.
  • Ability to read pick tickets and assemble customer orders from stock.

Responsibilities

  • Operate hand jacks and/or Material Handling Equipment experience in operating material handling equipment such as hand jacks, forklifts, reach’s, order pickers, and other various material handling equipment.
  • Operate material handling equipment up to 95% of the time.
  • Selection and preparation of customer orders in a manner that ensures complete fulfillment of each customer order.
  • Accurate receipt and documentation for inbound product.
  • Affix pallet tags and mark materials with other identifying information upon receipt.
  • Convey products and materials from receiving areas to storage or other designated areas.
  • Place items on racks, shelves or bins according to predetermined slot assignments.
  • Rotate stock to enable oldest stock to be most accessible for picking.
  • Read pick tickets, pick labels (or on screen display, etc.), assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets.
  • Load trailers with merchandise scheduled to be shipped.
  • Record information as directed to track the above activities.
  • Perform tasks in a manner consistent with the zero errors policy of the company.
  • Maintain performance at or above productivity standards and service level targets established by the company.
  • Operate within applicable safety guidelines as per government regulations, the company's safety manuals and/or stated safety policies, and common sense.
  • Perform inspection of material handling equipment and maintain fluid levels to ensure continued optimal operation.
  • Perform work in a manner so as to prevent damage to company equipment, facilities and products.
  • Ensure proper warehouse cleanliness is maintained at all times.
  • Follow up on ALL customer requests and questions to ensure appropriate response is made and customer is satisfied.
  • Treat all customers (both internal and external) with respect, courtesy and kindness.
  • Uphold and comply with policies and attitudes adopted by the company.
  • Accept responsibility to THINK about how own actions and actions of my associates affect our customers and our company.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety rules as stated in the Employee Handbook and otherwise posted or communicated.
  • Support shift operations by assisting with end-of-day reporting, securing the facility at shift close, and helping coordinate shift activities.
  • Assist in training and mentoring other warehouse team members to ensure consistent performance and development.
  • Act as a point of support for the team during night operations, providing guidance and direction as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to help meet company goals.
