About The Position

The Warehouse Worker at the Navy Exchange Service Command is responsible for various functions within a warehouse setting, including receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping merchandise. This full-time position supports the mission of providing quality goods and services to military personnel and their families, ensuring efficient warehouse operations and inventory management.

Requirements

• One year of experience in warehousing duties such as receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping.
• Ability to operate manual material movement equipment and forklifts.
• High school education may substitute for some experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in preparing material receiving and transfer documentation.
• Ability to provide direction to lower-graded warehouse workers.

Responsibilities

• Receives and checks incoming freight merchandise, supplies, and equipment.
• Unloads vehicles using handcarts, conveyors, or similar conveyance methods.
• Inspects and counts merchandise upon receipt, ensuring accuracy against invoices.
• Reports shortages, overages, spoilage, and damaged items to the supervisor.
• Organizes and stocks merchandise in designated storage locations.
• Prepares Transfer Delivery Receipts for merchandise deliveries.
• Conducts periodic inventory checks and resolves discrepancies.
• May operate a forklift and requires a valid driver's license for certain tasks.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
