About The Position
As a Warehouse Worker - Order Selector at Penske Logistics, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse. This position is full-time and operates on the 2nd shift, which runs from Thursday to Saturday or Sunday to Wednesday, starting at 3 PM until finish. You will be responsible for accurately matching numbers and letters, staging and sorting products for loading, and loading and unloading trailers. Maintaining a clean and safe work area is essential, as is complying with all safety requirements. You will also be involved in quality control, ensuring that damaged products are identified and removed upon receipt, and completing daily logs to track your activities. In addition to these core responsibilities, you will be required to operate various warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to transport items within the warehouse. You will also be responsible for packaging finished products for shipping, which may include shrink wrapping, boxing, and labeling. The role requires you to communicate effectively with associates from other shifts and to read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material needs. You will be expected to sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms and maintain accurate inventory records. This position is designated as safety sensitive, meaning you must work in a constant state of alertness and take responsibility for your own safety and that of others. The physical demands of the job include frequent movement, standing, walking, and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally. You will also need to possess proficient reading skills and the ability to follow directions, as well as strong organizational and time management skills. While prior warehouse experience is preferred, it is not required, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start their careers in logistics.
