Serves as working leader with responsibility for leading three or more warehouse personnel engaged in receiving, storing, and/or shipping stock and supplies. The representative level of work led is NA-4. As a team leader, the incumbent demonstrates proper work methods required to start and complete assigned work, ensuring that needed materials and tools are available. They work with associates in performing established procedures and set the pace by performing nonsupervisory work of the same kind and level as the associates led. The leader relays instructions from the supervisor to associates, checks working progress for compliance with supervisor's instructions, and ensures work is completed within set timeframes. They answer associates' questions regarding procedures, policies, and directives, and provide status updates to the supervisor. The role also involves providing input for work performance appraisals and recommending leave. The leader is responsible for assuring that safety and housekeeping rules are followed. Additionally, they establish and monitor preventative maintenance and repair programs for vehicles, determine maintenance and repair priorities, establish schedules, and review/evaluate work to ensure compliance with standards. They review and analyze major component repairs, provide guidance, and ensure daily inspections of fleet equipment are performed by operators, complying with all federal, state, and DOD regulations. The position operates under the general supervision of a designated supervisor who provides instructions and is available for problem resolution. Overall work operations are reviewed for status, progress, delays, and operating problems. The role also requires operating a forklift as needed and performing other related duties as assigned.
