About The Position

The Warehouse Worker in Nutrition Services is responsible for a variety of duties related to the shipping, receiving, storing, and issuing of District supplies, equipment, mail, and food. This position requires maintaining and preparing related records and reports, as well as driving a District vehicle to various locations to deliver goods as assigned. The role involves ensuring that supplies, materials, equipment, mail, and food are delivered in a timely manner and includes physical and clerical duties associated with warehouse operations.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school.
• Two years of experience driving light trucks in delivery work or in a warehouse environment.
• Possession of a valid California driver's license.
• Valid Forklift Certification within the first month of employment.
• Possession of a valid California Class A or B driver's license with air brake endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties related to shipping, receiving, storing, and issuing District supplies, equipment, mail, and food.
• Prepare and maintain related records and reports.
• Receive, unload, and inspect shipments for damage and conformity to purchase order specifications.
• Contact vendors regarding shortages, damaged goods, or discrepancies.
• Drive a District vehicle to pick up and deliver goods as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and perform safety checks.
• Pull food orders from the warehouse and deliver them to District sites and kitchens.
• Shelve and store items received in the appropriate section of the warehouse.
• Fill and process requisitions and monitor stock levels.
• Receive monies and make bank deposits according to guidelines.
• Issue stock in accordance with approved requisitions and resolve shipping errors.
• Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Assist in periodic inventory activities and train new employees.
