The Maintenance Utility will maintain the repair parts and supplies inventory system for the plant.

Requirements

Approach work assignments in a positive manner and function as a team member.
Some experience preferred. Will train the right candidate.
Requires the use of decimals and fractions, drawings and formulas, and adjustable measuring instruments.
Judgment to perform work and make decisions regarding setups and quality with continuous mental and visual attention.
Light physical exertion.
Must be willing and able to wear all required PPE. (Safety goggles, hearing protection, steel-toe non-slip safety shoes, and gloves as needed.)

Responsibilities

Receive, stock, and distribute maintenance materials, tools, and spare parts.
Update inventory control system as needed.
Coordinate and expedite maintenance personnel to specific locations when calls for equipment services come into the department.
Verify proper inventory counts through audits and physical inventories, adjusting inventory control system as necessary.
Oversee the operation inventory of the maintenance tool crib.
Avoid stock-outs and ensure optimal material, tool, and spare part levels by analyzing use requirements with reordering procedures and lead times.
Ability to operate fork trucks and maintain the warehouse
Recommend changes in inventory levels with consultation from the maintenance group.
Compile and distribute information needed for record-keeping or ordering purposes.
Utilize delay time constructively by doing housekeeping or other area improvement activities.
Participate in area continuous improvement efforts including Employee Involvement activities.
Personal attendance record should remain in compliance with company guidelines.
Able to work overtime as assigned.
