About The Position

This position is responsible for hand stacking cases in railcars. They remove debris from freezers and clean other areas in shipping and outside loading areas

Requirements

• Ability to understand and carry out instructions
• Be knowledgeable of safe lifting techniques.
• Actively practice and abide by all Company work, safety and personal hygiene rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
• Be knowledgeable of the potential hazards and safety procedures associated with the task being done.
• Be able to communicate in English orally and/or in writing.
• Have the ability to work with other employee’s one on one or in a small group setting to accomplish plant goals as directed by Team Leader staff.
• Basic math skills
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk and climb.
• Must have good eye-hand coordination
• Must have normal finger dexterity and range of motion
• Is required to reach with his/her hands and arms repetitively
• Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds on frequent basis
• Must be able to push and pull heavy items on occasion
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Be exposed to cold environments.
• Able to work safely near moving equipment and forklifts
• Will regularly work in a work environment in which the noise level is usually loud.

Responsibilities

• Hand stacks cases in railcars.
• Sweep and clean debris out of freezers including gutters.
• Hand palletizes line flow when instructed.
• Hand load rail cars when instructed.
• Clean truck ramps.
• Sweep and clean debris from loading docks.
• Stack and sort pallets.
• Perform empty space inventory in the freezers.
• Remove debris from outside truck and rail loading areas.
• Perform general accounting of case counts on pallets for load out
• Participate in Behavior Based Observations and Hazard ID’s as instructed by Team Leader.
• Actively practice and abide by all company work, safety and personal hygiene rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
• Maintain good housekeeping in his/her assigned area including following/auditing 5S practices.
• Utilize and inspect Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per company policy and notify Sanitation Team Leader, Team Leader or Lead if replacement is required. Per specific customer request, will be required to wear additional PPE.
• Participate in Behavior Based Observations and Hazard ID’s as instructed by Team Leader.
