Job Summary: Location: Shared Service Systems Address: 1725 S 20th St. - Omaha, NE Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 1am to 11am Works under the supervision of Transportation Supervisor. Lawfully drives truck to all assigned contracted facilities. Also loads, secures and unloads own truck. Maintains necessary logs and records. Keeps truck clean and disinfected. Checks for damage to shipped goods and for needed truck repairs.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or G.E.D. required.
  • Ability to understand, read, speak and write English to the level normally acquired by completing the 12th grade.
  • Must be able to perform mathematical calculations to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Hazmat and Forklift Training required.
  • Must successfully complete an on line hazmat and forklift training within 30 days from hire date with a minimum score of 80% and every 3 years after.
  • Must be able to lift and stack up to 75 pound cases.
  • Requires walking, standing, lifting, stooping or bending 100% of the time.
  • Must meet qualifications requirements of the Department of Transportation.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must pass specified written test, past specified road test, drug test and MVR.
  • Must be able to pass a D.O.T. physical and drug test.
  • Meet approval by insurance carrier.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous warehouse experience preferred.
  • Two years verifiable driving experience on a non CDL straight truck preferred.
  • Some computer experience preferred.
  • Pleasant personality.

Responsibilities

  • Stocks new inventory. Stocks new inventory from the receiving area to the primary area according to the priority the inventory coordinator. Employee will be trained in all functions of distribution activities such as receiving, restock; operate all distribution equipment and clippership.
  • Restocks and rotates new and overflow inventory. Restocks and rotates new and overflow inventory to the A, B &C level sections.
  • Tags all overflow inventories. Tags all overflow inventories with the proper ID label.
  • Fills customer orders. Fills customer orders according to the priority set up by the warehouse supervisor.
  • Stacks, repacks and wraps orders. Stacks, repacks and wraps orders for transportation to the customer facility.
  • Operates high lifts, and powered pallet jacks. Operates high lifts, and powered pallet jacks within the warehouse area.
  • Practices good safety habits. Practices good safety habits in and around the warehouse.
  • Assist in keeping the warehouse clean and orderly. Assist in keeping the areas in and around the warehouse clean and orderly.
  • Must be able to pass DOT job specific hazmat training. Must be able to pass DOT job specific hazmat training within 30 days of hire date.
  • Must be able to pass on line forklift training. Must be able to pass on line forklift training within 30 days.
  • Driving duties. Drives truck between Shared Service Systems and participating institutions. Loads and unloads truck using manual and electric lifts. Secures loads within truck. Lifting, standing, walking, stooping or bending approximately 40% of the time. Respects all driving laws. Maintains daily log, condition report and trip record. Cleans and disinfects inside of truck box after unloading soiled linen. Keeps inside of cab clean and orderly. Obtains signatures from receiving clerks when necessary. Notifies Transportation Supervisor of goods damaged during shipment. Notifies Transportation supervisor of foreseeable truck repair. Notifies Transportation Supervisor of any type of accident immediately. Must comply with DOT and drug/alcohol testing program. Maintains good customer relationships. Interfaces and maintains a good working relationship with other departments.
