About The Position

Independence Plus has an immediate opening for a Warehouse Technician / Driver to join the Home Medical Equipment division. This is a full-time position, working out of our Oak Brook, IL (DuPage County) office. This position will report to the Respiratory Services Manager. Job Description Summary The Warehouse Tech / Driver assists warehouse personnel in basic warehouse operations including cleaning equipment and pulling supplies/equipment for sales orders, delivering, shipping, receiving, and organizing inventory.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Safe driving record
  • Trustworthiness along with attention to detail, and willingness to adjust schedule to allow for the completion of projects, if required
  • Neat and clean personal appearance
  • Demonstration of verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Commitment to following all Policies and Procedures of Independence Plus, State, Federal, and CHAP guidelines, including the utilization of Universal / Standard Precautions and Confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and organizes incoming equipment using proper technique
  • Receives, cleans, stores and pulls equipment and supplies while utilizing HME software programs as directed
  • Accurately pulls and processes outgoing orders and shipments (UDS, UPS, delivery)
  • Delivers equipment and supplies using a corporate vehicle or, if necessary, personal vehicle
  • Processes paperwork in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintains accurate receiving records by: Checking incoming merchandise for completeness and accuracy against the purchase or sales order; Reporting discrepancies on packing lists, shortages, etc.; Labeling and assigning inventory to proper locations.
  • Assists with duties of other warehouse functions when necessary
  • Recommends improvements in general procedures to streamline processes and minimize unneeded expense
  • Coordinates with staff and participates in meetings as required
  • Maintains patient and company confidentiality at all times
  • Monitors and builds perceptions of Independence Plus as a high-quality company
  • Promotes home health, home nursing, and respiratory / HME referrals in the healthcare community
  • Complies with agency, state, federal, and CHAP policies and procedures
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
