About The Position

Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Warehouse Technician 2 or 3 within Facilities Management. The primary function of the Warehouse Technician is to perform operational support tasks, such as inventory handling, clerical, custodial, equipment operation, and basic maintenance, at Pennington Biomedical Research Center. Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to follow, reinforce, adapt, or develop policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal and state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules, and organizational policies. Making Accurate Judgments: The ability to assess options, weigh risks, and make sound decisions using available information and logical reasoning. Solving Problems: The ability to identify root causes, analyze relevant data, and apply practical or innovative solutions to challenges.

Requirements

  • Warehouse Technician 2 - One year of warehouse experience, or experience in receiving, storing, or distributing supplies or equipment.
  • Warehouse Technician 3 - Two years of warehouse experience, or experience in receiving, storing, or distributing supplies or equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate repairs or replacements for warehouse equipment; maintain related records.
  • Organize and store equipment, furniture, files, and medical records securely and safely.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety per OSHA regulations.
  • Operate and train others on forklift use in compliance with OSHA (as needed).
  • Assist Asset Specialist with annual inventory scanning (July–November) and prepare reports for LPAA submission.
  • Participate in federal and legislative audits.
  • Support fleet operations by inspecting vehicles, coordinating repairs, and maintaining records.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as battery replacement, wiper changes, and fluid checks.
  • Arrange and assist with relocation or replacement of furniture and equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
