About The Position

Plans, directs, and administers all aspects of distribution center operations, including requisitioning, receiving, storing, stocking, and distributing a wide variety of materials and supplies. Practices the principles of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement under GFSI guidelines. Establishes procedures for all warehouse operations, including verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, disposition of materials, and maintaining inventory. Prepares clear and concise reports. Oversees general company and warehouse policies and procedures. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of stock and inventory, including computer-driven inventory systems. Recommends changes to safety policies and procedures. Keeps current on applicable federal and state safety and health requirements. Inspects warehouse and equipment condition; prepares work orders and equipment replacement requisitions. Coordinates warehouse activities with production, sales, records control, and purchasing departments. Screens, hires, and trains warehouse personnel; participates in employee training. Compiles, analyzes, and reports on inventory management activities. Recommends and implements warehouse budgets. Prepares or reviews order requests, bid tabulations, stocking reports, annual contracts, and purchase orders. Develops procedures for computerized inventory systems. Conducts performance evaluations of warehouse personnel. Obtains certificates of analysis and MSDS information from suppliers as needed. Coordinates freight scheduling with transporters to and from Mays locations. Maintains facility and equipment through routine maintenance and sanitation. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, plus 1–3 years of related experience or equivalent combination
  • Forklift and equipment certification, including hazardous materials
  • 1–3 years of experience handling chemical/hazardous materials (preferred)
  • Knowledge of inventory control methods and applicable federal/state regulations (OSHA, ADA)
  • 3–5 years of experience as a warehouse coordinator or equivalent
  • Strong procedural, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail
  • Careful handling and repackaging of products
  • Knowledge of Mays Chemical Company operations
  • Additional training in purchasing and supervisory/managerial techniques
