About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor is primarily responsible for managing, supervising and coordinating all warehouse functions to ensure the product is shipped on time and to customer specifications, materials and ingredients are being received as per company specifications, and Inventory levels are accurate.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum two years previous experience in a Supervisory role in distribution or manufacturing required.
  • A minimum of five years of direct shipping and receiving experience in distribution or manufacturing is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to work well with all levels of employees, whether individually or in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with SQF, including Food Safety and GMPs
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to meet deadlines and constantly changing priorities
  • Ability to implement programs designed to enhance plant operations and to promote safety
  • Desire and ability to operate and understand packaging equipment and forklifts
  • Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions with little or no guidance
  • Flexible schedule depending on the season

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing all COI warehouse activities.
  • Oversees that the receiving process is completed according to the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Manages the shipping function to ensure that shipments are processed promptly and transactions are correctly entered into the organization's inventory system.
  • Coordinates placement and movement of all railcars and will also release rail cars to the UP upon unloading.
  • Manages all the activities for any outside storage or any warehouse space that Trinidad Benham lease to support COI operations.
  • Responsible for leading annual physical inventories, and assisting with cycle counts.
  • Active participant for 3rd party and customer audits and regulatory agency inspections.
  • Manages relationships with logistics vendors.
  • Ensures positive work environment in alignment with Trinidad Benham values, corporate policies and procedures, and government rules and regulations.
  • Resolves employee issues in collaboration with HR Manager and utilizes progressive coaching techniques.
  • Notifies HR and or Plant Manager concerning the behavior, safety, attendance, attitude, or any other issue which is affecting an employee’s ability to perform his or her job effectively.
  • Ensures that all warehouse positions are staffed accordingly and will notify Human Resources and or Plant Manager if we need to hire additional employee’s for a Warehouse position.
  • Coordinates building maintenance, housekeeping and projects with outside contractors and vendors and will obtain quotes for any type of major construction or facility upgrade.
  • Strives for Continuous Improvement in all processes (safety, quality, productivity, cost), including but not limited to a thorough analysis using quantitative data (costs and savings) to support the effectiveness of the recommendation.
  • Maintains training for all applicable direct reports in SQF including Food Safety and GMP's.
  • Ensures employees understand their departmental priorities and goals and ensure departments are staffed to match priorities while also optimizing departmental efficiencies.
  • Responsible for conducting performance reviews for all direct reports.
  • Ensures inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
  • Ensures efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment.
  • Ensures that all stock is stored in the correct locations in the warehouse.
  • Transfers inventory to trucks for delivery in a timely manner and according to schedule.
  • Maintains communication with other departments.
  • Oversees Fumigation program.
  • Serves as Plant SQF back-up Practitioner to Quality Control Supervisor ensuring food packaging safety, food defense, and quality standards are documented and followed
  • Communicates any product shortages to Production Supervisor.
  • Coordinates Forklift repairs, Forklift PMs and propane usage with appropriate vendors.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, develops, and provides feedback to the warehouse employees.
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of warehouse employees. Must review and approve employee timecards weekly.
  • Must approve vacation and time off request from direct reports.
  • Must be an active participant in staff meetings.
  • Communicates needed repairs of building and non-Manufacturing equipment to the appropriate supervisor and manager.
  • Complies Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures, including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.
  • Complies with company safety policies and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
