We are now hiring for a Warehouse Supervisor at our facility in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Your Mission: Supervise the operations the Spice Room to ensure maximum efficiency by reducing cost and enhancing profitability. Ensure adherence to all company policies as well as all state and federal laws. This position will assist managers and DC Controllers to support the corporate goals. Responsible for keeping current on new technology and processes that will result in first-class operations. Provide effective leadership and coaching to staff members and assist with training of new colleagues. Provides management with input on training needs and any performance issues. This position operates with minimal day-to-day direction and will make appropriate decisions as defined by management. Responsible for handling proprietary information with discretion and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in related field, experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in production, food service distribution and inventory management, with a focus on operations and compliance.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ direct supervisory experience, experience providing informal supervision or coaching and leading a team.
  • Experience working with third party vendors, monitoring performance and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Evidence of clear, concise written and verbal skills. Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of staff and external audiences.
  • Working knowledge of all food handling or other regulatory requirements (i.e.: DOT, OSHA, FDA, Food Safety Modernization Act, etc.) as well as other applicable federal, state and local laws.
  • Familiar with U.S. Food and Drug Administration Sanitation Standard operating procedures (SSOP).
  • Proven ability to prioritize, plan and handle multiple concurrent deadlines and operate in a changing, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Evidence of solid analytical skills and ability to look at a problem and determine workable solutions to resolve the issue.
  • Proficient computer skills including, Microsoft Word, Excel, and People-Net.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with driving the lowest labor cost per case on a daily basis while maintaining a safe work environment and provide expected service to Champion Foods (i.e.: increase in pounds of products produced).
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory changes (i.e. OSHA, Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA), etc.
  • Develop production methods and policies and manage the production operation.
  • Analyze productivity reports and implement improvements as it pertains to the utilization of equipment and individual employee performance.
  • Manage exceptions to established productivity standards with each employee.
  • Assures supply by managing the flow of scheduled inbound product ordered centrally and locally.
  • Assures quality standards are met and maintains an accurate accounting of inventory on every stock keeping item.
  • Develop and exercise good communication skills to coach, train, mentor and motivate drivers, warehouse and office staff.
  • Consistently demonstrates leadership qualities through the appropriate use of communication, delegation, follow-up, performance evaluation and positive reinforcement.
  • Reinforce a safe working environment and train/coach colleagues on safe work habits.
  • Assist with determining root causes for accidents and injuries during and after an accident investigation.
  • Ensure all policies, procedures, work rules, safety methods, practices and programs are implemented, followed and maintained to maximize a first-class environment.
  • Work with third party vendors.
  • Report to management any lapse in service level agreements (SLA’s).
  • Collaborate with mangers and colleagues to achieve acceptable ratings from internal or external inspections or audit agencies.
