Position Summary The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations within a food manufacturing facility. This role ensures the safe, accurate, and compliant receipt, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished goods while maintaining strict adherence to food safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The Warehouse Supervisor leads warehouse team members, promotes a culture of safety and accountability, and supports production through efficient inventory management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of warehouse experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of GMPs, HACCP principles, and food safety standards.
  • Experience with inventory control systems and ERP platforms.
  • Understanding of OSHA safety standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Allergen knowledge required.
  • Forklift certification (ability to obtain one required).
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
  • Stamina to work a minimum of 50 hours per week.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperature environments (coolers/freezers if applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, staging, shipping, and inventory control.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety programs including GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), sanitation standards, and company food safety policies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels using ERP or warehouse management systems.
  • Oversee proper rotation of inventory (FIFO/FEFO) to minimize waste and ensure product integrity.
  • Monitor temperature-controlled storage areas (refrigerated, frozen, or ambient as applicable).
  • Ensure materials are handled and stored in accordance with regulatory standards including FDA and OSHA requirements.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality Assurance, and Purchasing departments to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
  • Lead cycle counts, physical inventories, and audit preparation activities.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate warehouse staff; enforce company policies and performance expectations.
  • Ensure safe operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to inventory, shipping, or receiving.
  • Maintain clean and organized warehouse areas in accordance with food safety standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost control.
