As a Warehouse Supervisor at Zekelman Industries (Atlas Tube), Chicago, IL, this role plays a key part in ensuring efficient warehouse and shipping operations within the plant. The position oversees daily material handling, order fulfillment, inventory control, and shipping logistics while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive warehouse environment. Requirements

3+ years of warehouse and shipping experience in a manufacturing or heavy industry environment, preferably within the steel or pipe/tube industry
2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control processes, and shipping logistics
Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems preferred
Understanding of OSHA regulations, forklift operation, and warehouse safety best practices
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to make effective decisions in fast-paced environments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate effectively with internal teams and external partners
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with warehouse operations.
Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, and other material-handling equipment while working in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise warehouse and shipping personnel, providing training, coaching, and performance oversight to support production and delivery goals.
Coordinate the loading, unloading, and dispatch of shipments to ensure accurate and on-time delivery to customers.
Monitor inventory levels by conducting cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and maintaining accurate stock records.
Ensure proper storage, staging, and movement of materials and finished goods throughout the warehouse.
Enforce OSHA and company safety policies to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
Identify and implement process improvements that increase warehouse efficiency, reduce errors, and control operational costs.
Maintain accurate documentation of shipments, inventory transactions, and warehouse activities using ERP or warehouse management systems.
Collaborate with production, quality, and logistics teams to ensure efficient operations and customer satisfaction.
Oversee the maintenance and proper operation of forklifts, cranes, and other material-handling equipment.
