About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor provides leadership and direction to ensure all warehouse, raw material, packaging material, and finished product operations comply with Safety Quality Food Institute (SQFI) standards and internal food safety procedures. This role enforces employee safety rules and company policies, oversees daily warehouse activities including picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and fulfillment, and ensures timely preparation of orders for same‑day shipment. The supervisor supports warehouse staff, assigns tasks, conducts monthly training meetings, and maintains strong communication with all plant departments and external vendors.

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, or four years of warehouse supervisory or management experience in consumer products, food, or beverage industries.
  • Experience with SQF, USDA, FDA, or similar regulatory agencies; knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and local regulations preferred.
  • Knowledge of HACCP programs.
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, business management software (AX preferred), and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to develop performance metrics and eliminate waste in processes.
  • Strong customer focus and follow‑up skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, heavy‑fabrication environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.

  • SQF, Siliker, or AIB coursework preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by implementing and enforcing safety, FDA, and food safety policies and procedures.
  • Schedule warehouse team members to meet facility demands, determine staffing needs, and manage daily labor budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure full compliance with company, FDA, and OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse by planning layout improvements, inspecting equipment, and issuing repair or replacement requests.
  • Serve as a liaison between Sales, Distribution, and Manufacturing.
  • Monitor weekly shipping schedules and ensure readiness of outgoing orders.
  • Inspect transportation equipment for proper conditions and load integrity.
  • Oversee shipping documentation and ensure accuracy.
  • Manage receiving processes, including transportation inspection, material integrity checks, documentation review, and material approval.
  • Ensure proper receiving of production goods and allocate space for stock rotation.
  • Provide materials to production following FEFO procedures and ship products according to FIFO requirements.
  • Conduct cycle counts, reconcile inventory with system data, and support loss control initiatives.
  • Maintain product quality and safety through proper handling of materials and finished goods.
  • Report and correct unsafe conditions in the warehouse.
  • Coach, counsel, discipline, and evaluate warehouse employees to ensure strong job performance.
  • Make personnel decisions within the warehouse department.
  • Lead Lean or Six Sigma initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
  • Promote employee engagement through effective shift handoff and startup communication practices.
  • Maintain contingency plans for time‑sensitive operations such as absenteeism, customer issues, system malfunctions, inventory discrepancies, and equipment failures.
  • Build strong partnerships with plant management, planning, transportation, quality, and inventory control teams through daily communication.
  • Collaborate with peers across the company to share best practices and maintain compliance.
  • Ensure all processes follow SOPs and documented best practices.
  • Support customer satisfaction by meeting shipping requirements and communicating issues that may impact service.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, and participation in professional organizations.
