About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor oversees and maintains the storeroom with an adequate amount of supplies and materials for use in the production process. This position performs inventory control activities regarding these materials.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
  • 2 year/Associates Degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience with strong technical/mechanical knowledge
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in General business, accounting or inventory control in a similar or related position
  • Proficient in English written, verbal communication, and listening skills
  • Ability to lead/manage others
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles, purchasing policies and procedures
  • Ability to operate equipment such as a 2-wheel dolly
  • Ability to use general office equipment.
  • Ability to using computers to access and input data, such as in data base and spreadsheet applications
  • Ability to make sound independent judgments regularly and work from general policies and objectives
  • Ability to refer to supervisor when clarification or interpretation of organizational policy

Responsibilities

  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
  • Utilizes computer system to enters information on new stock items.
  • Enters adjustments and returns to stock.
  • Processes daily issues from Stores inventory.
  • Maintains current computer records:
  • Cross references item records to equipment data files.
  • Updates vendor information, i.e. costs and OEM's.
  • Monitors supply of storeroom items and prepares requisitions for replenishing the supplies.
  • Maintains an understanding of parts and supplies required for plant production and maintenance needs.
  • Confers with department managers regarding the importance and/or priority of maintaining specified levels of supplies.
  • Contacts vendors to reconcile overages/shortages in shipments.
  • Coordinates with vendors to maintain both electrical and mechanical shop stock.
  • Conducts physical inventory (includes off-site inventory).
  • Participates and/or conducts safety meetings and inspects storeroom for safety regulation compliance.
  • Maintains all warehouse, i.e., housekeeping, storage locations, dead stock termination.
  • Maintains automated stock re-order system to ensure adequate stocking levels.
  • Prepares Return Material Authorization shipments to vendor repair facilities.
  • Distributes maintenance literature and other pertinent information to plant personnel using the equipment or supplies purchased.
  • Assists other plant personnel by preparing storeroom requisitions and helping to find parts and other supplies.
  • Provides vacation relief for Purchasing Agent.
  • Participates in annual physical inventory activities.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
