About The Position

Granite City Electric Supply is the area's premier electrical distributor serving electrical contractors as well as residential, commercial, and industrial customers for over 100 years. With branches covering Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, and Connecticut, we are the largest regional independent electrical supply company and the official distributor of electrical supplies to the Boston Red Sox. Position Summary: Granite City Electric is looking to hire a Warehouse Supervisor. The Warehouse Supervisor will report directly to the Branch Manager. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects of (Transportation/ Receiving & Inventory / Shipping) operations in the branch, including managing the staff.

Requirements

  • Experience in Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience in a warehousing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to (75) lbs. repetitively.
  • Ability to work on computers up to 8 hours daily.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and/or sit daily for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as and not limited to forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to push/pull product and equipment.
  • Ability to be flexible with daily work schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Eclipse or other ERP and RF gun experience preferred.
  • DOT card is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, motivate and manage department personnel to provide accurate and timely service.
  • Plans shift operations and allocating resources.
  • Responsible for providing a safe working environment for department personnel and ensuring timely resolution of any unsafe practices or conditions and to take corrective action when necessary.
  • Responsible for daily cycle counting and overall inventory accuracy.
  • Responsible for truck and forklift maintenance.
  • Perform detailed process flow analysis and to implement recommendations to improve department operations through waste elimination and streamlined operations.
  • Promote a team based and positive working environment through daily, weekly and monthly team meetings.
  • Training of all users to ensure accurate and timely transactions are consistently applied.
  • Responsible for gaining a full understanding of the RF system and its functionality as well as gaining the knowledge and ability to train ( 6 ) subordinates.
  • Evaluate, rate, recommend and budget merit increases for department personnel.
  • Responsible to interact with other departments to resolve problems and improve process flow.
  • Fosters a team environment, works within the supervisory team, communicates with other supervisors.
  • Plan and prioritize workload.
  • Coaches and supervises a staff of (6) employees.
