About The Position

Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures. Provide leadership to employees using the GKN Six promises and cultural standards. Directly coaches employees and maintains a physical presence on the shift. Manage the performance of team employees with the appropriate recognition, feedback and or discipline if necessary. Maintain employee attendance information including vacation schedules, verification of time clock punches and training hours (E11) documentation. Ensure that safety and housekeeping standards are met. Plan for employee training, development, and cross-training. Handle disciplinary problems, disputes or conflicts effectively. Encourage positive employee engagement by supporting the PVD/EI process. Ensure that safety, quality, delivery, accuracy, OTD, and cost targets are met. Develop and manage employee work schedule to include vacation requests LOAs, holidays, and overtime. Expedite production, prototype and PPAP components through processes as necessary to support production floor and external customers Coordinate with cycle counters, finance, and planners to resolve shipping/receiving discrepancies, and inventory inaccuracies. Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities Assist in the improvement of departmental layout Lead in warehouse count during physical inventory Ensure conformance to QS9000 and ISO/TS 16949 procedures and work instructions. Assist in corrective actions related to internal customer complaints. Facilitate team meetings related to quality, cleanliness, safety, productivity and continuous improvement. Oversee the EDI/ASN information transmission and receipts Manage GKN owned returnable dunnage and maintain proper control of customer owned dunnage Responsible for communication and enforcement of Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality policies and procedures Monitoring cost control to adhere to budgeting About GKN Automotive: We have been inventing the future for 250 years. Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Three to five years' experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing facility
  • Experience in QS 9000 or ISO/TS 16949 environment required.
  • Excellent leadership skills, excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks, good written and oral communication skills
  • Three years warehouse experience in a people leadership role
  • Proficient in use of MS Office software such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience with SAP warehouse management systems
  • Previous forklift experience and license
