About The Position

Role Summary: Flowserve Cookeville seeks a Warehouse Supervisor for its Flow Control site (Valve and Actuator Production). This role is responsible for leading the team in the daily execution of the receiving plan and ensuring effective material flow throughout the shop. In conjunction with the Plant Materials Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor helps develop and execute the Warehouse Value Stream, including continuous improvement of warehouse layout, storage, and operations to drive efficiency. Success in this role requires strong leadership capability, including developing a large team and supporting their performance and growth through structured feedback and annual review processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5+ years of related warehouse experience.
  • Proven experience managing a sizable team, including conducting structured annual reviews and providing ongoing performance coaching.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high levels of uncertainty and multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Strong decision‑making and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-directed leader able to take initiative and implement solutions with team input.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based programs (Outlook, Excel, Word) and strong general software aptitude.
  • Knowledge of Oracle or advanced ERP systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Kardex or VLM (Vertical Lift Module).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a warehouse team to drive a continuous improvement culture with high levels of engagement.
  • Manage the team using a results-driven framework focused on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory, and continuous improvement to meet customer and plant goals.
  • Oversee warehouse and inventory management including receiving, storage, issuing, and maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Own the aftermarket value stream from order fulfillment through shipping.
  • Optimize the pick and pack process to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate inventory controls with planning and purchasing and physical inventory processes with accounting, including VMI and off-site warehouses.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and storage systems to maximize space utilization by developing standardized processes, instructions, rules, and parameters.
  • Continually improve warehouse efficiency by enhancing material flow and pick paths.
  • Set clear work priorities and expectations for warehouse employees.
  • Provide timely, candid, and constructive feedback to employees in both verbal and written forms; conduct formal annual performance appraisals for a large team.
  • Develop employees to their full potential by providing challenging opportunities, encouraging cross‑training, and enabling workforce flexibility.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators to track performance, identify issues, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of internal stakeholders and support Flowserve’s performance culture through clear expectations and active performance management.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, strategic, and business judgment skills while establishing conditions that enable high‑performance teamwork.
