About The Position

Responsible for overseeing assigned area, meeting and exceeding set salvage and transportation standards, goals and expectations while providing support for people to both employees and persons in services working in area. The role ensures the processing area is clean, organized, and aisles are not blocked, and that job duties are performed safely, maintaining a safe environment for all. The supervisor is responsible for meeting or exceeding assigned production goals, addressing bottlenecks, and ensuring efficient and safe product movement. This position also involves assisting in the training of workers and consumers, focusing on interpersonal skills, production, and work quality. Additional responsibilities include ensuring documentation and compliance with CARF standards, maintaining applicable safety standards, driving performance with S.M.A.R.T objectives, providing exemplary customer service to internal and external stakeholders, and maximizing the social and financial return of community resources. The role requires a commitment to innovation, continuous learning, and demonstrating professionalism and teamwork.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Able to stand for two hours at a time over a period spanning up to eight hours.
  • Able to bend, stretch, and reach.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
  • Have good organizational skills.
  • Able to be licensed to operate a forklift and able to operate manual lifts.
  • Be able to lift 40 pounds and move large boxes, furniture, and other heavy items.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures processing area is clean, organized, and aisles are not blocked.
  • Performs job duties in a safe manner and assures safe environment for people by maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Maintains and implements all applicable safety laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Assures safety of people in the program and staff at Goodwill.
  • Ensures the assigned production goals, set expectations and standards are met or exceeded for the day.
  • Assures assigned cleaning routine is completed.
  • Addresses bottlenecks to ensure efficient production.
  • Ensures safe product movement to appropriate locations.
  • Assists in the training of workers and consumers.
  • Works one-on-one with trainees on interpersonal skills, production, work quality, and other skills.
  • Maintains appropriate records and reports as assigned.
  • Responsible for immediate completion of accident report forms, Goodwill incident reports, and/or CMH Incident Reports.
  • Ability to operate hand jack, forklift and textile baler as needed to maintain product flow, within established safety standards.
  • Provides exceptional customer service in performance of tasks.
  • Ensures documentation and compliance with CARF standards.
  • Maintain applicable safety standards, rules, and regulations in areas of responsibility.
  • Have S.M.A.R.T objectives to drive performance and improve Goodwill's value to the community.
  • Work with integrity and provide exemplary customer services to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Have key metrics that drive performance taking a leadership role in maximizing the social and financial return of the community resources invested in Goodwill.
