About The Position

In this role, you will help sustain Mennel’s tradition of excellence established in 1886 as well as support our food safety programs and mission to reliably deliver superior quality, uniformity, and service. The purpose of this position is to lead, motivate and develop employees to achieve outstanding logistics results. This position will oversee inventory and coordinate logistics procedures in a safe and timely manner. This position will sustain the Mission and Motto and Food Safety and Quality Statement of the Mennel Milling Company.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Logistics or Business preferred.
  • A minimum of two years warehouse experience required; five years of warehouse experience preferred.
  • Ability to plan, lead, make timely decisions and execute strategic initiative.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Ability to operate most standard office equipment, including all Microsoft Office software.
  • Well spoken, articulate and courteous verbal, written and phone correspondence.
  • Must have exceptional time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP’s, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the FS&Q Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company as listed in Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and attend all required training sessions.
  • Maintain the department/facility in an everyday audit ready condition.
  • Provide business and technical leadership necessary to ensure both the department and facility meet and/or exceed goals in critical manufacturing success areas (Cost/Quality, Sanitation, System Utilization, Customer Service, Health/Safety/Environment).
  • Establish and sustain effective relationships with all employees in order to foster an environment where innovation and cooperation are used to solve problems.
  • Conduct regular team meetings which include effective communication of organizational and policy changes.
  • Provide performance feedback to team members via coaching and/or other documentation; address performance issues, taking disciplinary action if required.
  • Function as a technical and business resource in areas of logistics operations and shipping requirements.
  • Effectively track and report logistics process performance in critical success areas.
  • Manage daily staffing and effective resource allocation to maximize process efficiency.
  • Proactively address potential issues and upcoming business needs.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
