About The Position

The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for receiving and storing materials in a warehouse or storage facility in an organized manner and convenient location for removal when needed. The role involves identifying inventory shortages or excessive usage and reporting this information to the Supervisor. The Warehouse Specialist maintains the inventory system to aid in production scheduling, marks or tags articles for identification purposes, retrieves stored material when requested, and transports it to the requester. Additionally, the specialist develops and maintains effective warehouse storage practices that promote efficient storage, identification, and retrieval. The position also requires maintaining warehouse and shipping records and may involve using an automated warehouse management system. The Warehouse Specialist is the lead operator of hand and power equipment, including forklifts, for material handling and may supervise less experienced warehouse staff, assigning tasks as necessary. Participation in special projects may also be required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of experience in a related field.
  • US Citizenship required.
