About The Position

Warehouse Specialist Job Description Department: Procurement Job Status: Full-Time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Supply Chain Manager Grade/Level: 7 Amount of Travel Required: 5% Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Positions Supervised: N/A POSITION SUMMARY: The Warehouse Specialist receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with shipping and receiving, including unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders, and distributing to sales associates for processing.
  • Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
  • Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined sequence, such as size, type, style, or product code.
  • File requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated storage area.
  • Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for personnel traffic.
  • Assemble orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  • Keep logs and records of warehouse stock, executed orders, etc.
  • Organize transportation activities, including storage of goods, managing information accrued from point of origin to delivery, orchestrating transportation movements, and arranging for services as necessary.
  • Maintains quality throughout the logistics processes.
  • Plan warehouses and distribution centers for efficiency in both operations and capacity.
  • Mark materials with identifying information using the appropriate method.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
  • Assist in counting physical inventory.
  • Weigh and count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
  • Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments.
  • Prepare parcels for mailing.
  • Organize the warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
  • Wear the proper safety equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.
