JOB SUMMARY: The Warehouse Specialist will work in the Houston, TX facility assisting with the warehouse operations, including execution of the shipping/receiving, inventory activities, and building pallets. This is a part-time position that will generally work a schedule of Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 noon, but some flexibility in start/end times and additional availability may be required. Hourly pay is up to $18/hour, depending on experience.

  • Physically receive truck shipments from various carriers, including verification of received goods to purchase orders for accuracy
  • Stage shipments for pick-up, including pallet arrangement, wrapping, weighing, etc.
  • Prepare pick tickets, labels, or other shipping documents
  • Load/unload trucks of goods using forklift, pallet jack or other equipment
  • Store and retrieve goods from warehouse inventory location, using forklift or pallet jack
  • Assist with determining proper storage methods and location of goods within warehouse
  • Assemble or customize goods to unique customer specification
  • Assist with maintaining inventory records and reports
  • Conduct cycle counts on recurring basis, including investigating discrepancies
  • Label items in inventory appropriately
  • Assist with quality inspection of incoming products to customer specification
  • Assist with maintaining adequate supply of warehouse materials
  • Assist with facilities maintenance as needed
  • Routine forklift inspection and reports
  • Other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Operations Manager
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
  • Experience in a warehouse/inventory or shipping/receiving role preferred
  • Ability to complete Forklift certification program required
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred in Houston location
  • Computer experience preferred
  • Knowledge of general OSHA and safety standards
  • Competencies utilized: active listening, decision making, service orientation, problem solving, time management, attention to detail
  • Applicants chosen for employment will be required to submit to a criminal background check and drug screening
  • In-person presence is required
  • This position requires frequent repetitive motions such as bending, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, and using both hands
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. routinely
  • Ability to operate a forklift frequently
  • Ability to load/unload trucks using pallet jack
  • Constant exposure to plant temperature (high and low) and environment that is not climate-controlled
  • Compliance with all company, government, and customer guidelines for personal and customer safety protections
