The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan. Verify material/merchandise against receiving documents, identify discrepancies and obvious damages, route materials; and store, stack or palletize material in accordance with prescribed storage methods. Note: Exclude workers whose primary duties involve shipping and receiving work (see Shipping/Receiving Clerk), order filling (see Order Filler), or operating forklifts (see Forklift Operator). May be required to drive small to medium trucks for program needs including possible overnight stays.

  • Perform a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.
  • Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials, examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage.
  • Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment.
  • May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
  • Verify materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, notes and reports discrepancies and obvious damages; route materials to prescribed storage locations; stores, stacks or palletizes material in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
  • Assist with inventory, evaluation of general property.
  • Operate company vehicles and material handling equipment.
  • Select storage location and record selected location on inventory worksheets.
  • Forward appropriate paperwork to supervisor for review.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and facilities to include government furnished property and equipment.
  • Assist in remitting, transferring, and releasing property.
  • Support sales activities.
  • Pick up, transport and deliver parts, material, equipment and components to pre-determined destinations.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of material being transported.
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required or equivalent training or experience.
  • Six to twelve months job related experience and/or training is required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
  • Perform driving duties as requested.
  • Position may require overnight travel.
  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
