About The Position

PRIMARY FUNCTION Responsible for executing a variety of warehousing functions including receiving, storing, inventory management, and shipping of materials, while ensuring compliance with logistics policies and supporting accurate, timely order processing. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Perform a variety of warehousing duties in accordance with the facility's storage plan. Verify materials or merchandise against receiving documents. Report discrepancies and visible damages promptly. Route materials to appropriate storage locations. Store, stack, or palletize materials following established methods. Rearrange stock and take regular inventory of stored materials. Examine stored items for damage or deterioration and report findings. Remove items from storage and prepare them for shipment. Operate hand trucks or power trucks to complete warehousing tasks. Oversee the life cycle of products, including preparation, receiving, and shipping. Support the development and enforcement of logistics and inventory policies. Administer and maintain inventory control program systems. Coordinate with team members to ensure timely and accurate order processing. Establish and maintain minimum and maximum consumable inventory levels. Assist with logistics planning and scheduling activities. Scan orders into inventory management systems. Track and monitor shipments across various channels. Safeguard government property and ensure secure handling of sensitive items. Maintain a clean, professional appearance and work environment. Adapt to schedule changes and shifting priorities as needed. Demonstrate initiative in resolving issues and ensuring follow-through. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. This position has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience as a Material Specialist or in a comparable logistics/supply chain role
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to assist supervisors and maintain organized, compliant work areas
  • Active and valid Material Handling Equipment (MHE) license
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) and Interim Secret Security Clearance within 60 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Experience handling and warehousing Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT); HAZMAT Certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of PC-based systems and cargo/material management software preferred
  • Proficient in the use of Inventory Management Systems such as GOLDesp, SAP, DPAS, or equivalent
