About The Position

Under general supervision and direction, ensures the daily functions and procedures of the warehouse run smoothly and efficiently. Performs a variety of duties including inspection of incoming shipments, issuing stock, non-stock purchases with TAA credit card, assists with the disposal of excess stock, and all other activities related to the operation of Tucson Airport Authority's (TAA) centralized warehouse. Enters data into the TAA's financial management system and completes appropriate forms, records, reports and other documentation to ensure adequate accounting of property. Regularly drives a TAA vehicle off airport property and throughout the general Tucson area to pick-up supplies, parts, and other materials. Responsible for physical distribution of goods and supplies from the warehouse to other TAA departments.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of warehouse experience, two or more years preferred.
  • Knowledge of: Packaging, shipping, receiving, quality assurance inspection, storing, delivery and inventory control practices, procedures, methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of: Basic warehouse work practices, safety and security procedures relevant to storage and distribution of materials, supplies, and other items.
  • Knowledge of: Practices, procedures, and legal requirements for handling hazardous materials relevant to the warehouse.
  • Knowledge of: Basic math as it applies to warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of: Proper lifting techniques.
  • Knowledge of: OSHA safety guidelines and practices.
  • Knowledge of: Training in general safety, electrostatic discharge awareness and foreign object damage awareness.
  • Skill in: Performing tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Skill in: Reviewing/reconciling a monthly TAA credit card statement for all items procured during the month.
  • Ability to: Environmental Requirements Noise level typical of a warehouse setting.
  • Ability to: Clean, temperature-controlled facilities.
  • Ability to: Work outside at times in heat or any type of inclement weather.
  • Ability to: Accurately inspect incoming shipments and compare to orders.
  • Ability to: Complete and maintain records and forms related to warehouse operations.
  • Ability to: Remain focused in stressful situations using sound judgement. Perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and function in a high-pace work environment meeting all deadlines.
  • Ability to: Safely operate warehouse equipment and drive vehicles to load/offload or move parts/materials, including a delivery truck, forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
  • Ability to: Work in a warehouse environment that requires crouching, kneeling, sitting, standing, and crawling, and climbing ladders up to 10 feet high.
  • Ability to: Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally life and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to: See close up, at a distance, see colors, and have peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work outside at times in heat or inclement weather. Read, write and speak the English language in an articulate and fluent manner.
  • Ability to: Communicate clearly via telephone, radio or in person with sufficient clarity to be understood by others.
  • Follow written and oral rules, policies, procedures and instructions.
  • Maintain discreet and professional sense of confidentiality due to sensitive nature of job functions.
  • Use Microsoft Office software, computers, and other office equipment.
  • Establish and maintain professional effective working relationships with customers, vendors, consultants, TAA employees, contractors, and other personnel encountered in the course of their work.
  • Use maps or other means to efficiently navigate around the city when driving to vendors.
  • Valid Arizona Driver's license.
  • Meet and maintain the ability to drive personal or airport vehicles and obtain authorization to access the non-movement areas on the AOA (Air Operations Area).
  • Must obtain forklift certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Must obtain and maintain access to the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA).
  • Must successfully complete the National Incident Management System (NIMS) 100, 200, 700, and 800 course requirements and certification within the first year.
  • As an employee, you are deemed to be essential personnel as part of TAA's emergency response and must respond to airport incidents as requested/required.

Responsibilities

  • Locates, pulls, and issues requested supplies, equipment and other materials to accurately and efficiently fill requisitions and orders.
  • Loads/unloads materials and products, checking items for damage. Inspects purchased items upon receipt and verifies the correctness and quantity of items received against invoices.
  • Uses a TAA credit card to make authorized purchases when directed and processes the monthly credit card statement for all items procured during the month.
  • Frequently drives a truck to various local businesses to pick-up supplies, materials, equipment for TAA.
  • Monitors inventory levels, re-stocks the warehouse in the prescribed method and completes data entry for receipt of product.
  • Process fixed assets received through the warehouse. Receive, document, and assign asset numbers and tag. Ensures that when changes are made to any stock item, master and location detail are documented in Oracle.
  • Accomplishes data entry for services received against Purchase Orders.
  • Ensures vehicle cleanliness and performs daily inspection of vehicle prior to driving and informs supervisor of any problems.
  • Processes all outbound deliveries and shipments.
  • Assists with the disposal of excess or obsolete TAA property through reutilization, scrap, public auction, or other authorized process.
  • Assist in inventory cycle counting.
  • Assist other departments by offering training as needed.
  • Keeping detailed shipping and receiving logs to account for all materials that enter and leave the warehouse.
  • Runs monthly "TAA Overdue Vendor Shipment Report" and follows up with supplier to check on delivery status.
  • Assist with keeping supplier files up to date in Oracle.
  • Receives unclaimed property ("airport lost and found"). Collects and catalogs the unclaimed property and disposes of it through auction or as appropriate depending on the type of items.
  • Administers the uniform program for departments using leased uniforms by reviewing all orders and invoices for accuracy and delivering/picking up uniforms.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness; keep floors, shelves, and stock clean and orderly. Perform all custodial functions including trash, recycling, sweeping, and restroom duties.
  • Be responsible to airport emergencies and situations that may involve loss of human life or property; support public safety and operational responses to emergencies; utilize Incident Management System (ICS) protocols and procedures; coordinate and/or participate in after-action emergency de-briefing with appropriate departments and stakeholders
